Mark,
Glad you had a successful install. Section 2 of the FAQ deals with just
this (and other) problems. In addition to Chris' excellent procedures for
building the 'real partitioning' section of the FAQ is a short explanation
of the different partitions (both DOS and BSD) and then a description of
what each of the BSD partitions is used for. I am still working on Section
2 and don't expect it to be finished before next weekend. I am really swamped
at work, and have been spending my BSD time (lunch hour and evenings) working
on a particularly important project.

On the matter of your clock, you wouldn't happen to be six timezones away
from Berkeley, California, would you? Check out the configuration file for
rebuilding the kernel. You will find that it was built for Pacific Standard
Time. A change to the timezone entry in the kernel will fix it up cleanly.
