Message-ID: <1993Apr5.130105.25114@bradford.ac.uk> Date: 5 Apr 93 13:01:05 GMT References: <1993Apr1.125044.13968@bradford.ac.uk> Followup-To: comp.os.386bsd.questions Organization: University of Bradford, UK Lines: 19 X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.1 PL6] I recently asked "Which Adaptec ISA devices are supported?" on comp.os.386bsd.questions. I obtained the following answer from someone at Carnegie Mellon: > I just bought a 1542C for 386BSD, but unfortunately, it didn't work > well with 386BSD. When I hook up a SCSI disk with 1542C, my machine > got to be impossible to boot from a SCSI. With 1542B, it all worked > well. Has anyone else seen this problem - or has anyone succeeded in getting the 1542C to work with 386bsd. I'm wanting to buy a SCSI card for my PC, and all the vendors are pushing the 1542C, but I don't want to buy one if I can't use it with 386bsd. (on the other hand if it can be made to work, I'd just as soon have the newer card). Follow-ups directed to comp.os.386bsd.questions. -- Thomas Sandford | t.d.g.sandford@bradford.ac.uk
