Date: Mon, 5 Apr 1993 20:05:43 GMT Lines: 28 Does anyone else out there trouble booting from floppies attached to a 1542B? I seem to get a successful boot about one in 6 or 7 attempts. But when it does successfully boot, there are no other problems. When the boot fails, it seems to successfully read some random number of tracks, and then suddenly the drive stops seeking and just sits where spinning forever. The random number of tracks could be only a few, or it could be enough tracks to almost finish the boot sequence. I've never had a problem booting from the hard drive, so I'm wondering if its a controller-related problem. It's a fairly non-bothersome problem, since I don't boot from floppies often. That's why I've put off posting about if for some time... ;-) I've seen this problem with the original bootables, and the patchkit-0.2 bootables. I haven't tried Julians boot-blocks yet, but I'll post a followup when I do. Anyone else seen this problem? Thanks for the info, Jon -- -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
