Message-ID: <1993Apr9.230930.24132@craycos.com> Date: 9 Apr 93 23:09:30 GMT Organization: Cray Computer Corporation Lines: 38 Simple question Does anyone have a BOCA I/O 2 by 4 (2 parallel, 4 serial, NS16550 'compatible' UARTs) controller working using cgd's com driver? Detailed question I've been pounding my head against the wall for the last week or so trying to use either a modem or terminal hooked into a serial port. No matter what I tried I could not get anything to work. I tried playing with modem configuration, tip controls, different driver settings, shared interrupts, individual interrupts, etc. and never got a thing to work. Even a loopback between two serial ports, with a getty on one, failed. So this morning I got my hands on a dumb card with a serial port. I plugged into it and all works fine. The guilty party would seem to be the Boca card. Now has anyone else gotten the Boca controller to work? Is it a bad card? Or is it just 'different' and cgd's driver is not expected to work. Does anyone have other 16550 cards (8 ports if possible) that they can recommend? Thanks, Scott P.S. How about the KW-531A card that Chris refers to in his sample config file? What is its full name? -- ___________________________________________________________________________ Scott Bolte scott@craycos.com +1 719 540 4186 Cray Computer Corporation, 1110 Bayfield Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80906 As anyone here will tell you: I speak for myself. *** Celebrate Diversity ***
