Message-ID: <1993Apr10.103233.5313@samba.oit.unc.edu> Sender: usenet@samba.oit.unc.edu Nntp-Posting-Host: lambada.oit.unc.edu Organization: University of North Carolina Extended Bulletin Board Service Date: Sat, 10 Apr 1993 10:32:33 GMT Lines: 22 I caught the tail end of a flame war earlier, I really hope this doesn't start another. I'm looking for any opinions - hopefully objective - on the strengths and weaknesses of different 386 UNIX platforms. Some key concerns: - stability - efficiency/speed - TCP/IP, SLIP and/or PPP support - support for 24-bit true color hardware of any sort, but preferrably on the cheap. E-mail is much appreciated. I hope also that people can post their opinions and engender further discussion, without bristling fur and ruffling feathers. Thanks much, Brandon -- The opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Campus Office for Information Technology, or the Experimental Bulletin Board Service. internet: laUNChpad.unc.edu or 152.2.22.80
