First there is no such thing as syscons 1.2 you mean 0.2 right ??
I'm fairly convinced that you have done something wrong somewhere in the
setup. But I need more precise info on what kind of hardware you are 
running, and how your system is configured.

It isn't there, syscons has now such ioctl, nor does the supplied servers
use one !.. Again what server are you running, what display card etc....
