unfortunately one of our systems constantly reports the following with from ps:

F UID PID PPID CP PRI NI ADDR SZ RSS WCHAN STAT TT TIME COMMAND
 1008001 0 203 1 9 1 0 1821 500 484 c021c S ? 4:06 /usr/local/etc/bwnfsd /tmp
11008401 566 1025 203 0 26 0 40b9 0 0 Z ? 0:00 <exiting>
11008401 622 20170 203 0 26 0 1d37 0 0 Z ? 0:00 <exiting>
11008401 565 20502 203 0 27 0 1566 0 0 Z ? 0:00 <exiting>
11008401 565 20506 203 0 25 0 1c8a 0 0 Z ? 0:00 <exiting>
11008401 565 20520 203 0 26 0 1cc8 0 0 Z ? 0:00 <exiting>
11008401 565 20523 203 0 27 0 40f3 0 0 Z ? 0:00 <exiting>

man reports that:

COMMAND - "A process that is blocked trying to exit is marked <exiting>."

STAT - "'Z' indicates the process is killed, but not yet removed."

If anyone could offer some advice to whether the trouble is caused by the parent process or maybe
even an OS bug and a possible solution.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

	Mike
