Message-ID: <9304161363@monty.apana.org.au> Organization: APANA South Australia - State mail hub Date: Fri, 16 Apr 93 07:06:24 +0930 Lines: 25 I'm going to be ordering a new 486/33 system today, and hopefully have 386bsd installed on it before next weekend. I don't think I'm going to be sorry to wave goodbye to my current Amiga system :-) I plan to get myself a tape drive with the proceeds from the Amiga's sale. As a complete newbie to 386bsd, I don't really have much information about the best tape drives to buy. I'm not overpoweringly concerned with speed, although that would be nice. The main issue for me is compatibility: Is it going to work with the 386bsd drivers? So, my question: Can anyone recommend a good tape drive? Does it need any additional drivers that aren't included in bindist/srcdist? Where can I get them from? Is the drive quarter-inch or 8mm? What's its estimated recommended retail price in Australia? (That last one might be a toughie :-) Thanks in advance, - mark -------------------------------------------------------------------- I tried an internal modem, newton@monty.apana.org.au but it hurt when I walked.
