No, it won't. 
I'm running the same setup exept that I've got codrv installed.
I've tried pcconc and syscons too, and they all work but I always get
the message about KBDFORCEASCII having an improper ioctl when I exit
from X.
With codrv the console hangs in some kind of graphic mode, and I have to
reboot to get rid of it...

Uhh.. Could it be your videocard that isn't recognized by the X-server?
I dont know if I've seen anything about "Oak".
