I believe this should be a FAQ.
I have fixed lpt.c, deleting the extra comment line, and adding the
include file (and rearranging them), and I have installed patchkit-0.2.2,
and I have recompiled (successfully) a kernel with lpt in it, and I have
made the device files for lpt, and I have run dev_mkdb. But I must be
missing something simple, because I get a
/dev/lpt: Device not configured
error when I try to write to it. BTW, it is found upon boot up.
So what am I missing? I have also tried using the lpt_haug files,
including the patch and the lpt.c included therein. I have not installed
the interruptless-kit.shar file, since it wants to install with the name of
"lpt", and I believe the new patchkit has dubbed it "lpa", so maybe someone
will clear me up on that.
Thanks... this seems like a problem I have fixed before for other device
files, it's just one of those days you can't remember how you fixed it.
