To allow thousands to enjoy in the comfort of their home a workstation. Not to mention the numerous ports of available PD software. Why dont you mention that commercial enterprises not only seek glory but also your money. 386bsd+Linux population as this point is a drop in the bucket compared to DOS or the traditional "workstation".
