I find myself using 'em too. Not for programming, but for explaining
system analysis stuff to customers. I plot out little charts of what they
are now doing, then little charts of what I propose. I keep 'em VERY simple.
Sometimes, it helps, sometimes it doesn't. Most of the projects I sell are
still as a result of seeing "Jo Blo" down the street who can do this and
that with his computer. I find that many people are very reluctant to
change unless they realize thier competitors have long since done so.
My efforts with charts, figures, reports, presentations and so on
are mostly a large effort that produces little sales. The sneering
competitor, however, is wonderful.
