Well, that all depends on (a) how *badly* they didn't want the suit filed,
(b) how badly they might have been worried about messing with it once started,
and (c) how much autonomy they gave the directors of USL.

Personally, after seeing what Novell and AT&T charge for their operating
systems, and how they distribute them, I'm inclined to take Rob Pike's
word for it. Of course, you mileage will vary.
