	I've also seen this problem when building kernels, but I don't think
	it's as bad as you make it sound, because I've built 2 or 3 already
	and all of them have run...

	I think the error message results from you NOT using the "-g" option
	of gcc, which produces the debugging symbols...

	In other words, the kernel you build should still work... Mine do ;>
