Me too! Except it seems to be a little worse for me. My Dell has DOS 6,
and my DOS install disk won't even let me boot at all after installing NetBSD.
I have to boot my diagnostic disk (which is DOS 5) to recover. Fdisk reports
only one (odd) partition, despite my setting up 2 partitions at the start
(and with a program that actually does give the cylinder boundries, which
(dos6) fdisk does not, contrary to the NetBsd doc)

Me too. I interpret it as asking whether there is a DOS partition table on
the disk, presumably so it can take some care not to kill it. So I said yes.
Didn't work. (Neither did saying no). Partition table screwed up in both
cases..

On my current attempt, I have gone back in and recreated the partition table
after finishing the first 2 NetBsd diskettes (through copy kernel). I can
now boot dos, and recognize a goot NetBsd area when booted from the NetBsd
floppy, but NetBsd will not boot from the hard disk.

If I ignore trying to get dos to work, NetBsd itself works great, and has
a low pain install path, but ...
