The Split is due more to lack of funding, diplomacy and style of leadership.
Funding because I don't think that Bill is working full time on 386bsd.
Diplomacy because we can't get to agree on features of growth path for 386bsd.
Style of leadership well allow me to be diplomatic on this point :-)
Also not enough individuals taking ownership for components of the system.
This last point is a key one for in my opinion is what Bill & Lynne would
like to see. It is spell out in the charter for 386bsd: 386bsd is a research
tool,i.e., hack your brains out if you like and share with us your joy.
It will be very nice to have a system such as ref back on the net
