But now I have a problem with ftp, talk, etc... Organization: zap, Montreal, QC, Canada Message-ID: <C6Ap35.46C@zap.uniforum.qc.ca> Date: Fri, 30 Apr 1993 11:54:26 GMT Lines: 26 Greetings... I have solved my PPP problems, and now my 386BSD machine will talk correctly to my SCO gateway to the Internet (using vjmode old). But now I have another problem, which I feel must be a simple question of TCP/IP configuration files. If I ftp to my neighbour (ftp rcogate), a connection gets established, I can log on, and I can do "cd pub"... But whenever I try to do "ls" or "get file", all I get is: ftp: bind: Can't assign requested address I'm a bit confused by this error!?! I also get a similar error if I try to "talk clip@rcogate". On the other hand, if I "ftp localhost", everything works fine. Is this a nameserver issue? (I don't have a named running, but my /etc/hosts file is set-up properly) Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated! Denis, fortin@zap.uniforum.qc.ca
