Is it fully compatible with an 1542B or 1742A ? If not, no chance .

No driver seen, so i fear, no chance.

Good question, where is a driver out there for the normal Soundblaster,
but i don't know, if this does function with the Pro.

Yes, you can have both DOS and 386bsd/NetBSD on the drives, but for easy
installation, you will need some empty space on the first drive for
the setup of 386bsd/NetBSD , you can even make it easier to boot between
DOS and BSD, i use OS-BS, a little boot program, that asks you, which
OS you want to boot.
