Always make sure all of the information is correct. I had somehow made a 'd' partition waaay back when that had an offset, instead of being the whole drive it was something all-together different. Anyway, disklabel kept writing the labbel at that offset (in the middle of my swap partition). It was doing what it was supposed to do, but not I.
