Message-ID: <rstoferC6F97n.JJD@netcom.com> Organization: NETCOM On-line Communication Services (408 241-9760 guest) X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.1 PL6] Date: Sun, 2 May 1993 22:59:46 GMT Lines: 14 I am having a little problem understanding exactly how to set up the COM ports for terminal (login) operation. If I do nothing, the status lights on my breakout box are all red (disabled) and the port is dead. I can copy a file to /dev/com0 and the port is initialized and the file will be displayed. When the transfer is complete the port is shut down again. Second part of the question: I know where TERMCAP is located but I don't know exactly where to make changes to have the system recognize my terminal and it's characteristics. Additionally, I would like to change the baud rate on a more or less permanent basis. I believe the port defaults to 9600 and 19200 is what I would want to use. Any assistance will be appreciated.
