I am interested in installing 386bsd on my home pc. My current system is a 486DX/33 with 4 Megs RAM and a BOCA SVGA card with 1 Meg RAM and an ET4000 chipset. I wish to install 386bsd on my D: drive (120 Meg) and I will give it the entire drive. I have a copy of the FAQ but it is old and probably no too accurate and I also have a copy of the boot disk needed. My questions are: How much of the 386bsd system can I install with only 120 Megs of disk space? Can I run X windows with only 4Megs of RAM? (I am considering upgrading to 8 Megs soon - would this help?) Can I run any DOS applications in 386bsd (a DOS emulator or something?)? Is there any problem with installing to the D: drive? Are there any boot managers that people use (easily) to allow a choice between DOS and 386bsd at boot time? How difficult is this system to keep up? (I have some UNIX experience and some C, but I'm far from a hacker and I'm doing this primarily for experience) Could you please Email this any any other information to me? I am trying to start reading the BSD related groups but my time is limited and I am still unfamiliar with much of the material. Thanks for any help!!!
