Are there any folks out there that are familiar enough with 'talk' and 'ntalk'
to be able to help me (and a couple of folks on the net) to get *talk working
correctly?

The problems are in the 'Checking for invitation' and 'Remote machine does
not recognize you' sections...

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated...

BTW, While we have had IRC working between our sites now for several months,
it doesn't provide the private communication pathway that talk does. Also,
we have yet to figure out a way to get IRC to notify you that someone is
looking for you to talk to you.
