X-Newsreader: Tin 1.1 PL4 Date: Wed, 5 May 1993 17:18:07 GMT Lines: 31 apologies if this is a naive faq, please direct me to a better forum if there is one. can someone tell me how to configure my 386bsd system to use a printer on one of the serial lines? here is my current printcap entry: lp|local line printer:\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:\ :lp=/dev/com1:br#9600: what i'm trying to end up with is a setting which has the printer using xon/xoff flow control, 8 bits, no parity. but i can't find out the magic constants needed in the fc/fs/xc/xs capabilities. i'd also like to run the line at a hight speed, 38400 baud if that's possible. at the moment all i get as output is a couple of blank pages :-(. of course, what i'd really like to do is attach the printer to the parallel port, but i don't have a driver for that. has anyone else managed to do it? thanks, rob. -- Rob Duncan Talk: +1-415-325-8780 Pomegranate Technology, Inc.
