Newer Than disktab!!! OH SHIT!!! HELLLP!!! Message-ID: <haley.736717067@husc.harvard.edu> From: haley@scws8.harvard.edu (Elizabeth Haley) Date: 6 May 93 19:37:47 GMT References: <haley.736682158@husc.harvard.edu> Keywords: New Newer Newest Maxtor 7245AT Nntp-Posting-Host: scws8.harvard.edu Lines: 32 Thanks to the kind and quick reply from Jaye Mathisen (I hope I spelled your name right...) I am up and running... His advice was to make c: and d: refer to the whole disk and mess with the other partitions... So I set up a: as the first 400 cylinders, b as the last 64 and e: as everything in between... Now all I need to do is remake my kernel to support a second swap device and I'll really be cooking.. (or something) NOTE::: I would still like to see a method for determining partition sizes, etc. and a detailed manual on disklabeling. I realize these things might be in one of the various books mentioned in the release notes, but being somewhat hackerish, I keep night hours, and those darn bookstores keep day hours... And they want you to PAY for things... :-) In any case, if people would reply by e-mail, I will summarize to here, and send off a copy to TSgt Dave, Our wonderful FAQ maintainer. Thanks again Jaye. -- Jesus saves sinners... /****************************************************************************\ ==============David Charles Todd, tHE mAN wITH tHREE fIRST nAMES============== I/O Error: core dumped. \*************************hacksaw@headcheese.daa.uc.edu**********************/ ...in a shoebox in his mother's attic.
