Is this because the number of sectors must be a multiple of 2048?
(i.e. 15990/2048=7.8)  Using 8*2048 or 16384 might work.

Same as above, 31980/2048 is 15.6 which is not a whole number.  I'm not
sure if this is the problem.  I'm only speculating, but I used multiples
of 2048 for all sizes, and got all the way through to the end.
