(I meant to post this to c.o.3.announce, but I am still struggling to get
my news system to post properly to moderated groups. Oh well...)

I have made a new version of my TW-523 X-10 driver for 386bsd available
for anonymous FTP as file /pub/386BSD/xten.tar.Z on host cs.sunysb.edu.
This is a revised version of the driver that I posted last fall, and
which was for a time available on ref.tfs.com. The new version of the
driver can take advantage of the high-precision microtime routines in
patchkit 0.2.3 to give somewhat more reliable error detection.

Also new in this version is a daemon "xtend", which implements a civilized
interface to the driver for use by client programs. I have been using this
software, together with "cron", for the last several months to control lights
in my home.
