The 386bsd news archive on minnie.cs.adfa.oz.au is now available by email
as well as by telnet. This allows those non-Internet users to access the
news archive.

The mail handler allows you to scan for egrep regular expressions in the
Usenet news subject lines for 386bsd. Mail will be returned giving those
subject lines that matched your regular expression. Using the article
numbers you can then send further email and request certain articles to
be mailed back to you.

The mail handler performs the requests which are placed in the _body_ of
your email; the subject line is ignored. The commands are:

prog pattern - Search the 386bsd subject lines for the pattern
grep pattern - Search the 386bsd subject lines for the pattern
read number - Return the given article
help - List the commands available
help command - Give more details on the command
quit - Ignore further lines

Multiple commands can be sent in any email; however, the mail handler
doesn't break returned mail into lumps of 64K or less, so please ensure
you don't request too much at any one time.

Email requests should be sent to bsdnews@minnie.cs.adfa.oz.au

The turnaround time should be around 20 minutes or less, depending on
when the mail daemon is next cron'd.

This was a simple modification to the bsdnews service running on minnie;
consider it to be in alpha-test. Please let me know of any problems.

Cheers,
	Warren Toomey	wkt@csadfa.cs.adfa.oz.au
