Same problem for me on 486/25, Adaptec 1542A & scsi disks. I have the 
impression that this is a bug in 386bsd, because the same hardware has
run both SCO 3.2.4 and ATT Unix V3.2 without a hitch (sp?). Before
pk 0.2.3. was installed no problems either (most likely because there
was no stray code ?)
