I really do run out of swapspace frequently, or so the kernel says. What is the cause of this, and what can I do to fix it? I am using the NEW NetBSD kernel, as distributed. The local help has given up on this, so any help from the net will be appreciated. danube# vmstat procs memory page disks faults cpu r b w avm fre flt re pi po fr sr ?0 ?1 ?2 ?3 in sy cs us sy id 0 0 0 4824 212 38 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 122 47 31 5 4 91 danube# disklabel -r /dev/rsd0a # /dev/rsd0a: type: SCSI disk: DEC label: flags: bytes/sector: 512 sectors/track: 57 tracks/cylinder: 14 sectors/cylinder: 798 cylinders: 2570 rpm: 3600 interleave: 1 trackskew: 0 cylinderskew: 0 headswitch: 0 # milliseconds track-to-track seek: 0 # milliseconds drivedata: 0 6 partitions: # size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg] a: 14336 204800 4.2BSD 512 4096 16 # (Cyl. 256*- 274*) b: 153600 219136 swap # (Cyl. 274*- 467*) c: 1843200 204800 unused 0 0 # (Cyl. 256*- 2566*) d: 2050860 0 unused 0 0 # (Cyl. 0 - 2569) e: 409600 372736 4.2BSD 512 4096 16 # (Cyl. 467*- 980*) f: 1265664 782336 4.2BSD 512 4096 16 # (Cyl. 980*- 2566*) -------------- -- Copyright KHUSHRO SHAHOOKAR, $0.02 khushro@eecs.umich.edu Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor
