XFree 1.2 was compiled with gcc 2.3.3 with the assumption that an FPU would be present. As a result, any client that uses the math libraries will either get wrong results or will crash. Exaples: oclock, xeyes, and ico will dump core as soon as they are loaded; the buttons for xman and xcalc will be badly mis-drawn; Athena scoll bars are useless; etc.... The good news is that XFree 1.3 will be compiled with gcc 1.39 and the will support FPU emulation. I'm currently testing out the beta version of this, and everything seems fine. Expect to see 1.3 out in mid-June :) -sl >-- >Brad Colbert colbert@hightop.nrl.navy.mil >--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
