Tomorrow I will finally ftp NetBSD and Linux for a friend who doesn't have
net access. But before that, I have some questions about NetBSD.
YES, I already read much of the FAQ but I still have some doubts, and since
I don't have much time to study it I though of posting here.

1) First, I saw that NetBSD is split into many 240K files. The FAQ says
something about these files being done with cpio (which I never used and don't
know how).
Can I just put 5 of these files in a 1.2MB disk and during the installation
they will get unarchived (or un-cpioed, or whatever) in the proper directories?
If you need the mentioned cpio to do this, is it included in the boot disk?
(I just want to be sure, because my friend doesn't live in the US and I want to
give him something that works)

2) And now that we are talking about boot disks, the only things that resemble
boot disks are some files called "install1.fs2", "install2.fs", "kc-aha.fs1"
and "kc-ahbbt.fs1". Which of these do I need to get and what do they do?
Also, I read that the kc-* files are for Adaptec controlers or something like
that. Do I still need these boots disks, even if I don't have such controlers?

3) I didn't see X windows anywhere. I think that I need XFree. Where can I get
it? Does it need to be compiled under NetBSD or can I get a binary distrib.?

Well, I think that's it. Please answer as soon as possible. I know that these
are kind of stupid questions, but also very easy to answer for anybody who
already got the OS. Instead of wasting your time flaming like "You, dumb newbie,
RTFM!!!", use that time to answer.
Thanks.
