It'll point you in the right direction if you want to explore, but don't rely on it alone. I will release a better patch within a day, but right now I'm separated from my NetBSD machine. Thanks to Sean Fagan <sef@kithrup.com> for his response and a copy of someone's earlier (and unfortunately very ugly) attempt to fix the same problem. Now for the good news: if you have a drive that identifies itself as "TANDBERG TDC 360092X4180I04:" that you're having trouble with, then you're definitely in luck. Myself, Sean, and a local friend have this drive, and it works here. I also have a "360021F8621U07:" but we'll see how that goes. - David B.
