I can add a getty to /dev/com01 and when the remote machine tries to attach the login prompt is displayed OK. However when the user enters the login id the session hangs. As a test I tried simply logging into COM1 from COM2 using tip and a null modem and serial cable and got the same results. Any ideas anyone? I am using the default getty entries that come in /etc/ttys. Cheers, James -- James Bridson The very concept of the Royal Mail I find james@socrates.demon.co.uk miraculous... I don't even mind queues in the post office. In Batley, however, folk aren't so easily impressed.(M.Wallington)
