First printers. I created lpt0 and lpt1 withe the MAKEDEV script in /dev, removed the leading hashes from /etc/printcap, tried linking each of /dev/lpt[01] to /dev/lp in turn, enabled printing with lpc and still it doesn't work. If I use lpq then the jobs are shown in the queue. Indeed the 'ready' light never comes on during bootup (as it does with DOS). Anybody know what I'm doing wrong ? Second UUCP. This is probably very simple. After hunting around for the 'uu*' programs and the configuration files and not finding them, I copied them off the src08 disks. But they wouldn't compile. First autoconf was missing and when I commented out that line from the Makefile I then got other compile errors in about the 10th file. If somebody is knows more about BSD style UUCP then could we talk about it in mail. I'm familiar with SysV UUCP so I'm anticipating problems when I start looking for 'uugetty' ... :-( Finally SLIP. I haven't actually got a machine that I can connect to yet. But in anticipation of using an SCO box and Slipup I could do with some help again. What should be the interface name, sl0 ? Again if your famililar with SLIP on BSD, then I'd appreciate asking some more detailed questions via mail. Thanks a lot for reading this far and for any help you can give.
