I get ftp speeds of a little over 1k/sec -- rotten speeds. The SCSI drive screams along -- no problems there. When I ping another machine across the room, I get > 6 second times... I don't have an ethernet snooper I can drag home, but I suspect either the wd card/driver is holding outgoing packets or holding incoming ones. Also, someone mentioned that there was a problem with mixing 8- and 16-bit cards in certain memory address ranges... I can't find the article now -- would that person or someone else please mail it to me? That should make it into the FAQ as well, it's it's true. :) In any case, thanks for your time. --Michael -- Michael Graff <explorer@iastate.edu> Speaking for myself, not Project Vincent Voice: (515)294-4994 for ISU or the ISUCC Iowa State Univ Comp Center Fax: (515)294-1717 Ames, IA 50011 -=*> PGP key on pgp-public-keys@pgp.iastate.edu <*=-
