Hi all. I'm working on installing NetBSD on my 386 machine. I've already
installed 386BSD and had it on the net for a while. The problem is that
I'm using a 3Com 3C503/16 Coax Ethernet Card, and a SynOptics 508A DIX/Twisted
Pair Tranciever. When I hooked it up before, everything worked as planned.
I did ifconfig ec0 <ip> broadcast 255.255.255.0

everything worked just peachy. Now, with the tranciever, it doesn't work.
I can telnet/ping localhost, but It doesn't look like any of the packets are
making it past the card. I can't ping my gateway, and when I do a traceroute
to anywhere, it doesn't even make the first (which should be the gateway).

I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong with the tranciever? Is there
any other ways to detect if i'm getting packets to the net?

I've just bought the tranciever and the card from someone off the net so
unfortunately, I don't have the docs. I don't think it's the card, it seems
to be initializing ok. Does anybody have any info on the tranciever? Here
is some more info...when It starts up, the power and link lights are on solid,
the RX light blinks occassionally, it doesn't look like any regular pattern,
but I don't know. There are two switches on the right side of the box. I
don't know what they are for? Can anybody enlighten me? Thanx...alex...
