Use DiskManager to format it without translation. The last two cylinders are not available (they're used to store ESDI formatting info and manufacturer's defect lists). I can send you jumper information if you like. I have one of these drives and pretty complete docco. I'm using the Ultrastor 12F, though. > In addition, we are unsure as to how to configure the ESDI controller. > Does the WD1007 do _automatic_ sector translation? There is a command, "bad144" > which does not appear to be much help. Bad144 doesn't work in 386BSD. It's supposed to work with the Barsoom WD driver in NetBSD... I'll find out when I get a copy downloaded. -- Peter da Silva. <peter@sugar.neosoft.com>. `-_-' Har du kramat din varg idag? 'U` "Det er min ledsager, det er ikke drikkepenge."
