I can't get mine to work no matter what I try. The deskjet is a 550C. I tried using lpa0 but it wasn't much use. If I tried to print a file immediately after booting then it would try and print the file but it wouldn't print CR's so it would get to the edge of the page and just stop. I set the DIPs to print CR+LF for a CR but it didn't work. Subsequent attempts to print a file just caused a single blank page to be ejected. I then tried lpa0p but that didn't make any difference (what exactly does priming the printer involve ?). I tried using a filter to reset the printer and set it up to handle CR's but it didn't seem to send the codes to the printer. As a last resort I tried lpt1 but that caused a reboot. Anyone have a deskjet succesfully connected? -- Paul Richards, University of Wales, College Cardiff Internet: paul@isl.cf.ac.uk spedpr@thor.cf.ac.uk
