Organization: CompuVision Research (CVR) Date: Tue, 8 Jun 1993 05:51:54 GMT Message-ID: <C8AGAq.5tK@NeoSoft.com> Summary: Need to boot from sd2a! Sender: usenet@NeoSoft.com (C-news) Nntp-Posting-Host: blkbox.com Lines: 28 I have just purchased and installed the Adaptec 1542C SCSI contoller. ( port 0x330 irq 11 dma 5 ) I currently have a 486 with the following (pertinent) HW: - 486/33 w/20M RAM ISA bus - Adaptec 1542C SCSI Host Adapter - Brand BT9000S 210M internal SCSI drive at SCSI ID #0 - Fujitsu M2623F 425M external SCSI drive at SCSI ID #2 - Toshiba XM3301B CD-ROM at SCSI ID #1 I have DOS/Windows on the internal SCSI ID#0... I have NetBSD 0.8 on the external SCSI ID#2... I need to find a kernal that will complete the boot with a SCSI drive on something *other* than ID#0. When I enable: Dynamic Scan and BIOS for > 2 drives; I can toggle back-n-forth between boot drives with the 'Ignore in BIOS Scan' feature of the configuration software. (Isn't the 1542C *GREAT*!!) Can anyone please help? Thanx, Doug -- Doug Egan CompuVision Research Internet: egan@blkbox.com Friendswood, Texas ______________________________________________________________________________
