I'll ask the patchkit coordinator here to reserve a major number for the following device: Names: /dev/mcd0 /dev/rmcd0 Type: CD ROM driver for Mitsumi LU0005S Major Number: ??? I am nearly finished reverse-engineering *) the MTMCDE.SYS DOS driver, and believe I understand enough of the internal command codes to proceed with implementing such a driver for 386bsd. There is a simple driver available for Linux, but it does not very much more then just providing the functionality to read a specified sector (no audio/ioctls). Brian, if you are interested in writing such a driver or assisting, we could get in closer contact. Holger *) It seems to be nearly impossible to contact Mitsumi to get any detailed programming information on these drives. If someone from this company reads this, the address in the signature is sufficient to send me specs.
