Do you have a local bus video card? I have a 1990 AMI BIOS and have been told it needs to be updated to support local bus reliably, even in WinDoze. Do you see any crashes in WinDoze or DOS, if you have them? I found I can get things to work by turning off the external cache. If you have an external cache I suggest you try that, though that will slow down your system drastically. I also found that some of my binaries had gotten corrupted due to the cache problem and had to reinstall to get clean binaries onto the system. A symptom was that I had major fsck problems. --- David C. Niemi: David.Niemi@oasis.gtegsc.com My opinions are those of my fuzz-brained, cat-sniffing Norwegian Elkhound.
