I just looked on agate and saw that the current patch release is 0.2.3 and was wondering if this patch may be applied to the NetBSD kernel source. I also noticed, when I compiled the NetBSD kernel that I got a file not found from the loader: subr_mcount.o. I looked through the Makefile and found that this file was not included in CFILES and was not compiled anywhere else so I assumed (unwisely, but I was curious) it was just not removed from the OBJS. I removed the reference in OBJS and the link went to completion with a message: couldn't find db_symtab symbols I'm unsure what this message means, but being the cat I am I replaced my kernel (saving the old I'm not stupid just ignorant) and rebooted. Things seemed to work properly though I didn't test it to it's full extent. So, is NetBSD 386bsd with patches applied, and I can I just apply the 0.2.3 patches to the NetBSD kernel? And, what is subr_mcount and is it needed? -- Please reply to sholder@cse.uta.edu Thanks, Shane Holder
