I tried what you suggested...and it works! It booted up just fine, telling me that I can run NetBSD on my 486... ...but all I can do with the disk is copy it to my hard drive. Maybe when I get OS/2 for it (if the boss says "yes", and the budget is big enough), I'll reserve 40MB or so for a U**x partition to play a bit. The 486 is my work machine...it's bigger and more scary than my home machine, which is anemic and weaselly en-disked (only 40MB...see later msg on Tiny BSD and small partitions...choke). ------------------------- Gavin "Always get the first shot off quickly.
