I installed patchkit 0.2.3 and managed to rebuild the kernal. I then attempted to rebuild the system and found that it hung when using nroff on a man section (intro of chap 2). I remembered that someone had suggested that shadowed ROM could cause this (I think), so I disable the ROM shadow RAM and tried again. It got further but hung when compiling cplus-parse. I managed to complete the rebuild by hacking the buildworld.sh script and only executing stage 2 of the script, but I would be interested to here if anyone else has had this kind of trouble. My configuration is: Viglen 486DX 33Mhz 492 Mb Fujitsu IDE drive (partitioned 192Mb DOS, 300Mb 386bsd). -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- David Woakes Voice: +44-31 447 0509 8 Maxwell St Email: david@maxwell.demon.co.uk Edinburgh Scotland
