Hi,

it seems that I have a PC with a bad 8259 (one, that produces
stray interrupts). It's a Dell 425 TE (an EISA 486DX/25MHz) and
what's interresting is that probably the 8259 is part of an ASIC
designed by Dell (ie. I've not found the 8259 itself).

Now some questions (perhaps related to the defective hardware).
The system is a 386bsd-0.1 w/ pk-0.2.3 and codrv-0.1.2 (pk-0.2.3
and codrv-0.1.2 compiled and installed w/o any problem):

- has anybody a working lpa- (or lpt-) driver with such a system
  (with strayints)?
After compiling the appropriate kernels for lpa (w/o errors),
the only thing I get when lpr-ing and then lpq-ing or lpc-ing is
"waiting for printer to become ready (offline)?" or something
alike (when compiling for lpt I get "status 0" messages all the
  time).

- same question for cgd's com-0.2.1-driver.
Perhaps somebody could give a cookbook for installing com-0.2.1
(and uucp and tip and slip).
(Well, it must not be cgd's com-driver. I gladly would take any
com-driver as long as I could get it to work w/ my system).

- and has anybody a kernel that works together with an AHA1740
controller in ENHANCED mode? I don't expect 386bsd to boot with
the AHA1740, only to work with it.
If so, how could it be accomplished?

Bye,
Michael.
