I am trying to get 386bsd installed on my system (486/66dx/2) and i rawrited the dist.fs to a 1.2 floppy, and turned the system on. It got throught it's beginnign stages, up to where it tried to mount the root. Then, I got this error: Changing root device to fd0a fd0: hard error (ST0 40 ST1 4 ST2 0 ST3 cyl 0 hd 17 sec 2) panic: cannot mount root As you can guess, i panic'ed and went beserk!! heheh. If anyone can offer some advice as to what i could do to try to fix this, it would be WELL appreciated. e-mail all replies to paper@nes.nersc.gov Also, if any of those who reply are in the Washington D.C. metropolitian area, please lemme know, cause that's where I am and it woudl be nice to be able to talk to someone local -dave <- Unix admin'ing newbie <*8
