Date: Thu, 24 Jun 1993 18:09:47 GMT Message-ID: <C9514C.H7L@raistlin.udev.cdc.com> Sender: usenet@raistlin.udev.cdc.com (News poster) Lines: 28 I just installed patchkit 0.2.4 and I had a couple of problems. 1) patch 158, part 6 wouldn't install. It kept saying that hunk #5 had problems (line 124). I had to edit patches so that it would call patch with the -l parameter (ignore whitespace during line matching) 2) when I boot, the sio driver claims that I have 8 8250 chips. I actually have 8 16550s (it's a hostess 550 card). Looking through sio.c, it looks like it won't use the FIFOs. Is there a fix for this? 3) I was getting stray intr 7 messages until I configed in an lpt device. Ok, this one is a user error. I just though that I'd mention this for the benefit of anyone else who sees it. 4) vmstat -i give strange output now. What do all of those new entries mean? Other than these, things work great! I especially like CODRV, virtual consoles are pretty neat things. -paul -- #include <std.disclaimer> #define FULL_NAME "Paul Dokas" #define EMAIL "pbd@runyon.cim.cdc.com" /* Mustang Sally changed my life. */
