"WD8013" worked. (Well, not quite . . .) The resulting kernel wouldn't work with the XFree 1.2 server and my ATI GUP local bus video (which previously worked as a VGA WONDER PLUS (V6).) I've heard of problems mixing 8-bit and 16-bit memory mapped devices in close address proximity, but shouldn't the ATI video also be accessed in 16-bit mode? (Or 32-bit mode with the local bus???)
