After modifying the config file (about which i did not know a whole lot), I recompiled the kernel (make depend;make). When I rebooted after moving the new kernel to /386bsd, I got the following message : wd0 0:<ST3283A> 1: <wdgetctrlr failed, assuming OK> at 0x1f0 irq14 on isa I assume this had something to do with the modifications i made to the Config file, which I'm listing below: (The machine is a i386 machine with an 245MB IDE drive) ###################################################################### # # GENERICISA -- Generic ISA machine -- distribution floppy # -- Modified for use on Lester by the Lester Work # Group, on June 28,1993 Anno Domini # # PATCHES MAGIC LEVEL PATCH THAT GOT US HERE # -------------------- ----- ---------------------- # CURRENT PATCH LEVEL: 2 00135 # -------------------- ----- ---------------------- # # 09 Feb 93 Nate Williams Added options for X code to # compiled in by default # 29 Mar 93 Rodney W.
