After installing pk-0.2.4 (built new kernel, built world) I can still establish a SLIP connection to a remote host but if I try to do anything over the SLIP link (ping, traceroute, telnet) I get a 'no route to host' message. I've checked (and double checked) my interface configuration and routing table and all seems fine. The slattach command adds a host routing entry to the remote SLIP server and I've manually added the default route: route add default REMOTE-HOST-IP -hopcount 1 The only difference that I can think of is I'm using the high-speed com driver (sio) now. I don't suspect this is a problem though since other serial stuff (kermit, tip, seyon, mouse driver in XFree86) is working fine with the sio driver. And I don't get any more silo overflows! I'm anxious to try SLIP out with the sio drivers but I've hit a brick wall here. Any ideas? -- -- Todd Pfaff \ Internet: todd@flex.eng.mcmaster.ca Dept. of Mechanical Engineering \ Voice: (416) 525-9140 x2902 McMaster University \ FAX: (416) 572-7944
